Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w prawie całej Europie prócz jej skrajnych części północnych i południowych. Zdaje się być gatunkiem północno-europejskim, występującym w środkowej Europie, głównie na obszarach nizinnych, na suchych terenach otwartych i na obrzeżach lasów, a na południu Europy na zimniejszych stanowiskach w wyższych położeniach górskich. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych miejscowości. Znajdowany zwykle pod kamieniami i przy podstawie roślin zielnych i traw.
