Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony prawie w całej Europie, na północ w Fennoskandii sięgający do około 70° szer. geogr., notowany ponadto z Azorów, Kaukazu, Syberii i Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk w południowej części kraju, przy czym od około 50 lat u nas nie wykazywany.
