Gatunek występujący w południowej i środkowej Europie oraz w południowej części północnej Europy. W Polsce wykazany z nielicznych miejscowości. Występuje pod gnijącymi roślinami, w pryzmach kompostowych, pod suchym nawozem, butwiejącymi plewami i słomą oraz w trocinach koło tartaków.
