Gatunek rozmieszczony w środkowej i południowej części Europy, notowany również z Afryki Północnej i Kaukazu. W Polsce znany z pojedynczych stanowisk tylko w sześciu krainach południowych. Występuje na terenach pagórkowatych i górzystych w grzybach z rodzajów gołąbek— Russula Pers. i lejkówka — Clitocybe (Fr.) Quél. oraz w mleczaju rydzu — Lactarius deliciosus (Fr.) Gray.
