Gatunek występujący w zachodniej i środkowej Europie, notowany ponadto z nielicznych stanowisk w Finlandii, południowej Skandynawii, w północnych Włoszech oraz w Rumunii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i pagórkowatych. Znajdowany w olszynach, na wilgotnych łąkach i torfowiskach wśród mchów, kęp turzyc — Carex sp. i wełnianki — Eriophorum sp., w miejscach wilgotnych, w próchnicy i pod opadłymi liśćmi.
